Balls and passion… Los Tenaces are making Bolero music nowadays.
A bold move when commercial pop songs are sounding in every radio station and music TV channels all over.
Los Tenaces is a music project created by Mauricio Ledesma aka Icho and Tana Vallejo aka La Tenaz, long time friends. Both of them are audiovisual directors, and if you`ll know them, you could feel the great chemistry that this two fellas have. It`s way to contagious.
This musical feature began a few weeks ago, when “Icho” contacted //SLANG MAG to told us about “Los Tenaces”. As usual we carefully listened to their Soundcloud page. We knew there was something special going on with this new band so we schedule a visit to one of the band rehearsals to meet “La Tenaz” and the rest of the musicians that play with them. We listen to their music and things became clear. Los Tenaces have a vintage sound, they include electronic sounds and samples mixed to Bolero, ChaChaCha and canteen sounds.
To produce this music feature, //SLANG MAG teamed up with La California, a production company where “Icho” works and with Andres Zuluaga (//SLANG MAG Editor in Chief). The plan was simple, to meet in Tana`s place to have a small jam, shoot pictures and film the meeting while at it, and of course to have a couple of drinks celebrating music. The drink of choice for this occasion was Aguardiente served on long glasses filled with ice, the perfect drink to listen to Los Tenaces.
So yeah folks, Los Tenaces is a new band form Colombia, they play Bolero music made from electronic sounds, their sound can be also Dub(ish) or Trip Hop Like. Their songs are full of passion, melancholy, love stories drowned on alcohol, and yes good times!
//SLANG MAG support Los Tenaces.
Cheers (Chin Chin…!)
